Most people celebrate the beginning of May with flowers, but here at the Charleston chapter of GotCountryOnline.com we celebrate with the announcement of 103.5 WEZL’s Party in the Park concert series. Every Tuesday in June WEZL brings in artists for a free concert at the Mt. Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park, under the famous Arthur Ravenel Bridge.
June 3, 2014:
Natalie Stovall & The Drive – I recently stumbled into Natalie Stovall on Twitter through GotCountry’s following list. I believe that girl can rival Charlie Daniels on the fiddle. Has that actually happened yet? If not, it needs to. Their debut album is set to release this year. For now you can download their new single “Baby Come On With It” via Amazon and iTunes, HERE.
Love & Theft – The fun boys of Love & Theft are returners to the Party in the Park stage. Two years ago they brought with them Jesse Rice, cowriter of Florida Georgia Line’s hit single “Cruise“. After the show they passed their time at the Wild Wing Cafe after party on the arcade game in the bar.
June 10, 2014:
The Swon Brothers – I first heard The Swon Brothers during one of Sirius XM’s The Highway surveys. I haven’t watched much of The Voice. I didn’t know the hit single “Later On” but I made sure to grab the list at the end of the survey to find out who they are. Their post-The Voice debut album will come out later this year. For know you can download their single via Amazon and iTunes, HERE.
Eric Paslay – I bet we can turn the fun of a “Friday Night” into a Tuesday night! After writing for others, Eric is finally keeping a few for himself. My current favorite is “Song About A Girl“. You can download his self-titled debut album HERE.
June 17, 2014:
Charlie Worsham – I saw Charlie at a free show before Kenny Chesney’s concert at Williams-Brice in Columbia, doing a guitar pull with Jon Pardi and Joel Crouse. They each had only one hit single at the time but it was fun getting to see their talent on the guitars while talking about their songs and trading stories. I am excited to see Charlie again. You can download his album Rubberband via Amazon and iTunes, HERE.
Jana Kramer – Jana is also another Party in the Park alum. And this will be her second time in Charleston this year. I hear she loves our city. You can download her music HERE.
June 24, 2014:
Blackjack Billy – I screamed when Blackjack Billy was announced. I discovered them during a Dodge Commercial Jingle contest about two years ago. I love singing along to “Booze Cruise“. These guys seem like they are so awesome to hang out with.
Craig Campbell – I wonder if WEZL will be dragging out the cornhole boards when Craig rolls into town. Maybe we can bring out our own celebrities for a tournament. I hope he sings “Fish“. That’ll be fun to hear the crowd to sing back to him.
You can stay updated with all information regarding the Party in the Park series by visiting the 103.5 WEZL website. Two members of GotCountryOnline.com will be at each show, so make sure to say hey!
