Despite the drama surrounding his highly publicized affair, and subsequent split from his wife Jessica Ussery, Jason Aldean admitted that it’s been difficult handling all the talk about his personal life.
Aldean and Kerr were first linked after they were caught kissing in a bar in September 2012.
Shortly after photos of them emerged, the then-married singer apologized for his behavior on Facebook, admitting that he had “screwed up” and “had too much to drink” that evening.
His apology continued, “I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself. I’m not perfect, and I’m sorry for disappointing you guys. I really appreciate being able to work through this privately with my family and for all your continued support.”
But less than a year later, the high school sweethearts—who have two children together—called it quits.
Aldean and Kerr made their official red carpet debut at the 2014 CMT Awards in Nashville earlier this year.
On Wednesday, Sept 24 during the west coast run of Aldean’s “Burnin’ It Down” Tour, the couple headed to the San Diego Zoo where the proposal took place.
