Trisha Yearwood has announced that her third cookbook, TRISHA’S TABLE: My Feel-Good Favorites For A Balanced Life (Clarkson Potter) will be released on March 31, 2015. The announcement was made direct to fans on Tuesday at 5:45pm EST by Yearwood, along with the official “reveal” of the book’s cover. Overnight, her post was “liked” more than 16,000 times. The book will be the country star’s first new cookbook since the debut of her Emmy-Award winning Food Network show, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen began airing in 2012.
Trisha’s Table is written by Trisha Yearwood, with sister Beth Yearwood Bernard and includes a foreword written by Garth Brooks. The book includes recipes with lighter ingredients, as well as recipes for traditional indulgences similar to many in Yearwood’s previous books, Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen in 2008 and Home Cooking with Trisha Yearwood in 2010.
As Trisha writes in the book’s introduction, “I still agree with the famous quote ‘everything in moderation, including moderation,’ but I have adopted an 80/20 rule when it comes to my delicate relationship with food: 80 percent of the time I make good choices; 20 percent of the time I let myself splurge a little.”
She goes on to write, “Growing up enjoying my parents’ and grandparents’ comfort food taught me early on about taste. It was always hard for me to go on a traditional diet because I had been led to believe I had to sacrifice flavor to shed a few pounds, so that effort never lasted very long. This girl likes food! I am not one of those people who gets so busy with my day that I suddenly think to myself, “Wow, I forgot to eat lunch!” That never happens to me. Never. I think about food all the time, so making peace with eating is a daily battle for me. I won’t say I’ve completely figured it out, but I will say that right now, I win that battle more days than I lose it, and I believe that’s the key.”
Recently, Trisha has taken her ability to balance up a notch – she’s debuted a slimmed down physique, returned to the road on the Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood and released a new album, PrizeFighter: Hit After Hit. Now, in TRISHA’S TABLE, readers will find a variety of brand new dishes like dairy-free Angel Hair Pasta with Avocado Pesto, vegetarian Smashed Sweet Pea Burgers, and tasty, high-protein Edamame Parmesan, alongside too-good-to-give-up family favorites, such as Slow Cooker Georgia Pulled-Pork Barbecue, Chicken Tortilla Casserole, and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls.
The 100+ recipes offer something delicious for everyone in the family, while her fresh outlook on food and life brings new flavors to the table.
