ACM Vocal Group Of The Year, The Band Perry, set Nashville ablaze this past week during the annual CMA Music Fest. Kicking things off Wednesday night, the band added another award to their collection by winning the 2014 CMT Award – their third overall – in the fan-voted Group Video of the Year category for their cutting edge video for the hit single DONE. The trio was a staple throughout the show, participating in a skit with show host Kristin Bell as she “stole” their award, and later introducing a performance by their upcoming tour mate Blake Shelton.
Early Thursday morning, The Band Perry arrived at Music City Center for a press conference where they fielded questions and also received a special honor from Music Row Magazine, a #1 Commemorative Challenge Coin to mark their single “Chainsaw” topping the Music Row radio chart. Immediately following the press conference, the band hosted an exclusive fan club party luncheon for 500 fans courtesy of McPherson Guitars. Throughout the morning, fans toured the very stage The Band Perry performs on during their headlining shows and the North American leg of their We Are Pioneers World Tour. Fans were able to hang out with the whole band and crew who fielded questions about the stage, the tour, and of course about the sibling trio. Afterwards, each of the attendees had a personal meet and greet and photo taken with Kimberly, Reid and Neil. At one point during the day, much to everyone’s surprise, one fan, Michael Mobley, pulled out a diamond sparkler and asked girlfriend and Band Perry fan Mackenzie Dunkin for her hand in marriage. She accepted. The Band Perry later took the stage, telling stories and handing out “super fan” awards, and wound down the day with an intimate performance for those in attendance.
Friday night The Band Perry hit the stage for their official 2014 CMA Music Fest performance at LP Field. Opening the show with their Number One smash “DONE.,” they delivered a fiery set that included fan favorites “If I Die Young,” “Better Dig Two,” “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely,” and their latest single “Chainsaw.” The 60,000 people in attendance were on their feet and singing along for the entire set.
This summer and throughout the year, The Band Perry will continue touring, playing headline shows as well as joining Blake Shelton on his Ten Times Crazier Tour 2014.
