NASHVILLE, TENN (May 17, 2021) – Country, power-duo SmithField – comprised of Jennifer Fielder and Trey Smith – today announces the upcoming release of their new EP, NEW TOWN, out June 16. Comprised of six original tracks, SmithField is ready to show 2021 what the modern female-male Country duo sounds like. There hasn’t been a female-male duo break out in Nashville in a decade and this pair has the talent and drive to make it happen. “We have been a duo for a decade and truly feel this new music, the stories we tell, the harmony, the heart, and uniqueness of our vocal blend we bring to the table with it will be a game changer for us,” says SmithField. “We have never put out music that has felt more genuine to who SmithField is and what we are all about than this. You can’t listen to one song on here and not know it’s a SmithField song. We are ready to break the glass ceiling that has been absent in our genre for quite some time and we are so excited to finally have it out in the world. This is just the beginning.” NEW TOWN is about those refreshing experiences in life – whether it be love, a new job or a new friend – that make a town feel like it has a brand-new spark. Even if you’ve been there your entire life, the new experience brings fresh perspective and sunshine to places that didn’t radiate before. The EP is symbolic in that it is a new chapter for SmithField. Each track makes Nashville feel like a “new town” for them as they fall more in love with the city and their love for music as each year passes. NEW TOWN EP includes three unreleased tracks in addition their three previously released tracks – “We’ll Figure It Out,” “Sunday Best” and “Something Sexy,” that Sounds Like Nashville says “… the rising team features smooth harmonies and a connection you can feel in each lyric — and now they’re using it to tribute some of the steamiest songs in country history.” SmithField has an uncanny ability of making their listeners feel like they’re sitting down for coffee with them and captivating them with both sides of a story. The EP comes at a fitting time as the world is starting to slowly reopen, with coffee conversations and happy hours finding a place on the calendar. The world is starting to feel anew after the uncertainty of the past year and a half and Nashville is starting to feel like a “new town.” This EP announce comes fresh on the heels of their “Something Sexy” CMT music video premiere last week along with the announce of their headlining show at the mainstay Nashville venue 3rd and Lindsley. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased HERE. The duo also made it’s “Something Sexy” radio debut over the weekend after being selected for the iHeart Women of Country playlist broadcasting via iHeart’s 130+ radio stations across the U.S., in addition to the iHeart app. The slow-burning track has also made its presence known landing spots on some of Country’s most notable playlists from Spotify’s “Wild Country,” to Amazon’s “Soundcheck,” as well as playlists on Apple Music, Pandora, and YouTube Music. Also this week, SmithField will hit the road, bringing first-rate harmonies and stellar live show to Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, GA on May 22. |
