It’s so great to hear some new music from Travis Tritt. I’ve always been a fan of his work and this time he is back with “That’s What Dreamers Do,” which was written for the independent biopic film, “As Dreamers Do,” based on the early life of Walt Disney. If you are a dreamer like me, then this song will resonate well with you.
The song is unbelievably touching as the lyrics proclaim strength of dreamers to hang in there when things get tough because sometimes you have to “climb ladders to reach the dream you’ve had in mind.” This song brings hope to others out there who are dreamers and reminds us all what we go through and “the struggles we have along the way” will only make us “stronger day by day.” The lyrics bring to light that it’s not an easy road when you are dreaming big, but we must not doubt ourselves because “that’s what dreamers do.”
My favorite part of the whole song describes a dream being like “thunder through the clouds that echoes through the canyons strong and loud.” What an amazing description of what it’s like to have a dream in your heart that you are pushing for and trying to chase, that dream just doesn’t leave your heart, it stays within and always echoes within just like this song says, strong and loud. So good. I love that the dreams we have in our heart always outweigh what we go through to get to where we need to be. It may seem like a long walk down a crazy path that has it’s twists and turns, and ups and downs. Sometimes the storms of life get in the way, our dreams can “chase away your dark sky when a ray of hope shines through.” I love that this song inspires, encourages and gives hope to dreamers everywhere. It seemed extremely fitting especially for this film about Walt Disney who always inspired us with great life quotes.
So to all of you dreamers out there, don’t give up, keep pushing forth, and be encouraged that there are others who have wentthrough just as much of a struggle as you, don’t doubt yourself. The best part of reaching your journey is knowing it wasn’t easy, but you made it, you did it with much hard work and determination. Take a listen to this song and be inspired, as well as reflecting on this quote, “All our dreams can come true, as long as we have the courage to pursue them.”-Walt Disney
