Listen to Reba’s newest, Until They Don’t Love You (co-written by Shane McAnally, Lori McKenna and Josh Osborne). The song lyrics tell the woe of realizing a tad late that you just kicked the best thing in your life to the curb. Oh, and the realization that the only thing sleeping in bed with you tonight is regret.
“Don’t pay attention to your heart until it’s bleedin’
Don’t know what you have until you can’t keep it
Don’t know what you want ‘til you need it
Don’t know that it’s love until it’s leavin’”
“When we released Love Somebody [her newest album] I was reminded of the power of my amazing fans! The energy and sass of ‘Until They Don’t Love You’ mimics ‘Going Out Like That’ [the first single from the album] but takes it up another notch. When we were talking about the next single, I kept going back to this one … it’s just so much fun to perform live.”
“When you left, I should of come runnin’
You were right about everything
I was up to no good and you knew it
And now I’m down here on my knees”
Reba will perform the new single tonight, 8/12, on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon at 11:35PM/10:35PMC.
The album, released this past April, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Country Album chart. It was released on the Nash Icon record label – a partnership formed, in part, with Big Machine Label Group CEO Scott Borchetta to allow Reba to record this studio album (her 27th).
Behind-the-album facts:
1. When Reba hears a song for the first time, she doesn’t know who wrote it. “I never see who wrote a song. I listen to the song first. The song has to stand up on its own. And then I look to see who wrote it. Sometimes I’m surprised, sometimes I’m not.”
2. Love Somebody, the title track, was co-written by Sam Hunt. Reba remarked, “It is different from anything I’ve recorded. It’s a positive love song. It’s an inspirational song to me.”
3. Reba has a duet with Jennifer Nettles titled Enough. It is similar to Reba’s 1993 song Does He Love You about two women in love with one man.
What is Reba planning for next year? She said,
“People always ask me, ‘What are you going to do next?’ Well, I dunno, God hasn’t told me yet. God is my manager, my tour manager, my scheduler, everything, and He’ll come up with the greatest things. He’s the one who gave me Annie Get Your Gun and the Reba TV show and presents those things to me. And He always lets me have the choice of refusing and saying, ‘No, I don’t want to do that,’ but I know He’ll give it to someone else, so I always step up and say, ‘I’ll take it.”
What we do know is Reba will be back in Las Vegas this December at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace with Brooks & Dunn. Check Reba.com for more information.
