While some may have wondered why there was no backlash to ‘bro’ songs filling country radio until now, may it be stated that our mothers taught us women right – if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
Our mothers also taught us to be strong and self-respecting. Now country radio is filling up with songs from women who work hard, play harder, and love life. One such song is Meghan Linsey’s “Try Harder Than That (feat Bubba Sparxxx)“.
This isn’t a male bashing tune – it’s about a woman who is comfortable in her own skin, and has nothing to prove. Nothing phony or crass, lyrics hold true to what you see, is what you’ll get (if you’re a real man, of course). Plus it sounds good too!
