Spirits rise as ethereal soaring vocals open Danny Gokey’s latest single, “Hope In Front Of Me” (also the title of his inspirational memoir released last October). Drenched from internal strife, Danny begs to be released from the forces battling within his heart. He tries to hold on, but his world spins out of his control.
That is, until he realizes that hope still exists. Now his voice is heard above the others, the light in the elusive tunnel is finally within his sight. Hope, even just a glimmer, can help piece a shattered life back together. The mid tempo sound balances the conflicts expressed in the lyrics.
Sadly, Danny’s personal story is not unique. His first wife died from complications after surgery for congenital heart disease. Gone was the love that had been his life’s compass. How could this happen? Faith had guided them through so much, but seemingly had run out when they needed it most.
