Wailing guitar sounds open Clare Dunn’s debut single “Get Out“. Co-written with producer Ben West, the music is a perfect compliment to lyrics about a need to step back, blow off a little steam, and reassess life. Doesn’t hurt to have someone special to do this with
“… Trying to catch a little break
All this stressing, tying up and messing my head ”
Growing up on her family’s farm/ranch in Dust Bowl country, Clare thought about a career in music as she worked cattle, hauled water, or drove tractors and trucks.
Never losing sight of her dream or work ethic, she signed a publishing deal after graduating from Belmont University. Clare has worked with a number of songwriters, including Terry McBride, Brice Long, and Hillary Lindsey.
Where did those wailing guitar riffs come from? Clare explains, “I heard things a certain way and I wanted the freedom to play it like I heard it – so I started learning (guitar) and hopefully I’ll never stop.”
Clare is the song’s lead and the background vocalist. Oh, and she was involved in the sound mix process too. Quite possibly a female Hunter Hayes.
She has toured with Florida Georgia Line, Will Hoge, Parmalee, and others. Plus you can hear her singing backup on a little country song behind another country act … “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)“, one of Luke Bryan’s #1 hits.
Good chance this country girl will be shaking up the charts real soon.
