Brantley Gilbert’s third single, “One Hell Of An Amen,” was written after he returned from his life-changing first USO tour. He writes songs based on his own life experiences and on ones experienced by those closest to him. The song brings a sense of closure after the deaths of two people – one from cancer, another from injuries suffered while on active military duty. The lyrics come straight from the heart, a final good bye. Brantley salutes their lives, their honor, and their impact on so many others. His vocals are raw, tender yet strong, leaving listeners with instantly relatable feelings – the pain upon losing someone dear to you with the faith that they’re in a better place.
“An’ that’s One Hell of an Amen
That’s the only way to go
Fightin’ the good fight
Til the Good Lord calls you home
And so be well my friend
Til’ I see you again
This is our last goodbye
But it’s a Hell of an Amen
…
So be well my friend
Til’ I see you again
This is our last goodbye
But it’s a Hell of an Amen”
