Tonight’s first ever American Country Countdown Awards has been peaking the interest over here at Got Country Online. Especially in the Breakthrough Artist category.
We all know that in the past nominees for awards would campaign on their social media sites asking their fans for votes. Thomas Rhett, Tyler Farr, Kip Moore and Cole Swindell did just that for their recent ACC Award nomination for Breakthrough Artist of the Year. One artist in particular did not, Brett Eldredge, which lead us to the question could his recent CMA Award win propel him to win this category? We were able to sit down and talk to Brett to see his take on our theory.
“It’s hard telling. I use my social media a lot, and I love the fact that I see fans every day out there saying, “Oh, I voted for [indiscernible] Breakthrough Artist” and people really get out there. My fans have been incredible on that front. And so, will the CMA win help me win this award? I have no idea. I know that I’m excited to be up for it, and especially with this being the first year of this show, being in that category the very first year is something very special. So, will it help from the other win? I don’t know, but I’m sure glad to be in the mix, for sure, and I’m glad to be up there with a lot of my buddies that are in the group, as well.”
What do you think, will Brett take home the first ever American Country Countdown Award for Breakthrough Artist?
