Shania Twain has announced her farewell tour earlier today. Called “Rock This Country,” the 48-show run marks the country superstar’s first North American tour in more than 11 years.
Twain broke the news on “Good Morning America,” calling the tour the “after-party to all of these years.”
Twain spent the past two years doing a Las Vegas residency, “Shania: Still The One,” at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace. After completing the showcase last December, “Rock This Country” will present an entirely different stage show. But while this will be Twain’s last concert trek, she’ll still record music and plans to release a new album.
The tour will kick off in Seattle on June 5, and wind its away across the United States and into Twain’s native country, Canada. It’ll end back on the West Coast, in Fresno, California on August 23, days before the singer’s 50th birthday. Wes Mack will open from June 5 through June 28, while Gavin DeGraw will have the slot on the remaining dates.
