I’ve been a fan of Ryan Kinder since I first heard his song “Kiss Me When I’m Down” a few years ago. Kinder’s voice is fantastic, and absolutely one of a kind. He has a sound that is completely his own. I was fortunate enough to see him play three times at CMA Fest year.
Two of the performances were pretty small, like on a rooftop in downtown Nashville small, and it was amazing. He’s just as good in person as he is on a recorded track.
Kinder released a new song, “Still Believe in Crazy Love” on Friday (8.26.17). I loved it the first time I played it. I’m pretty sure I heard him play this in Nashville because it seemed very familiar to me. Kinder’s unique vocals, with the help of background vocals from his “Sass Squad,” as he refers to his backup singers, take you to church on this single. I love that anyone can relate to it. Yes, it’s a song about love, but even as a single girl I can relate to it.
Yeah I’ve known heartbreak, and I’ve known lonely. I ain’t gonna lie. I’ve known drinkin’ for the wrong reasons, aint afraid to cry…
People who have been heartbroken, unlucky in love, or even just single for what seems like forever can all relate. It has a positive message of having faith and believing in your heart that “crazy love” is out there.
…but I also know my faith, and in weakness there is strength, so I tell myself there’s no giving up. Long as I’ve got a heart inside, until the day I die, I still believe in crazy love.
