‘Runaway Heart’ was co-written by Jordan along with Charlie Berry and Hunter Thomas Mounce. Jordan shared with Country Now: “The greatest struggle of my adult life has been walking the fine line between complacency and contentment. I have everything I could ever ask for and more and I still find myself chasing something more. I never want to settle for less than I believe I deserve but I also want to be content with where I’m at and what I have. That feeling is what inspired ‘Runaway Heart.’ It’s kind of a song to myself, trying to remember to slow down, enjoy where I’m at without settling into complacency.”
His recent track, “Smoke,” having originally won American Songwriter’s lyric contest back in 2014, exclusively premiered on American Songwriter.American Songwriter’s Jason Scott proclaims: “Jordan carries with him a very similar rock-informed country style ─ almost feeling like Eric Church with an outlaw bravado. ‘Smoke’ is unapologetically radio-ready, from its infectious hook and polished exterior. And more than anything, his voice remains tried and true, unique enough to stand firmly on its own.”
The release is a follow-up to “For A Minute,” which premiered exclusively on The Boot. Jordan also released “Outskirts Of Grace,” which was described by Sounds Like Nashville as a “heavenly track”and “redemptive standout” that “puts Jordan’s commanding sandpaper vocal at the pulpit and backs it with a soul-stirring blast of gospel rock, adding up to a transformative anthem.”
