We at GotCountryOnline would like to take a minute to send our thoughts and prayers to Josh Gracin and his family. Thursday afternoon Josh posted what appeared to be a suicide note to his Facebook account (which was later removed). Quickly people sprung into action and through their fast actions were able to get people to Josh’s side to assure his well-being.
It is our understanding that after meeting with police Josh drove himself to the hospital Thursday evening and is currently being held for evaluation. His manager reached out publicly to thank everyone for their outpouring of support, and to assure everyone that Josh is with his family, and is safe.
Late Thursday night Josh took to Facebook himself to apologize to his fans,
“To all of you. I apologize dearly for what I have put you through today… I am ok and I am getting help. I am so sorry to all of you.”
This post was also later removed, but friends, family, and fans continue to flood the posts to let Gracin know that he is cared for, and that everyone is still standing right behind him with lots of love, prayers, and support.
We want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that suicide is a serious thing, and that fast actions can potentially save someone’s life. If you ever see someone threaten to hurt himself or herself please notify someone immediately. Don’t take the time to debate if it is a serious concern or not. In these situations every second can count and it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
If you are ever feeling down, or considering hurting yourself please remember that you are not alone, there are people there to help. This is not something you have to deal with alone.
“No matter what problems you are dealing with, we want to help you find a reason to keep living. By calling 1-800-273-TALK (8255) you’ll be connected to a skilled, trained counselor at a crisis center in your area, anytime 24/7.” – National Suicide Prevention Hotline
Josh’s appearance at tonight’s Live on the Levee show in Charleston, WV has been cancelled. Country music artist, Trent Tomlinson will be performing in Josh’s place.
