The release of the Panama(Saban) trailer featuring Cole Hauser, looking every bit as tough as his character Rip from Yellowstone, and Mel Gibson, has folks wondering if Nashville is now Cinema City USA. The director of the film, Mark Neveldine of CRANK fame, worked on the film during the heart of COVID-19 from his home in Nashville. Nashville singer/songwriter Mick Fury composed the score in his studio between espressos at East Nashville’s Crema. Video editor Chris Cibelli edited the film from his office in Belle Meade, and stunt coordinator/actor Frank Blake organized his team from his home base in Nashville as well. Has Nashville joined Atlanta as the major film hub in the Southeast? Panama releases March 18th and features the frenetic cinematic skills Neveldine has come to be known for. An 8-year Nashville veteran, Fury paints a soundscape of 80’s influences from cumbia to synthesizers to straight up rock n’ roll. The stunts Blake drew up have lead actor Cole Hauser and partner Mel Gibson roughin’ up bad guys and tearing through jungles on motorcycles on this wild ride.
