Miranda Lambert wrote “Automatic” as a reminder to herself to slow things down, enjoy the moment and remember what it’s like to live more simply. Today, she’s enjoying some precious downtime at home, as the song becomes her newest Mediabase #1 single.
“When we wrote this song, we knew it was special, and when it came time to decide on what would be the first single, ‘Automatic’ felt like the right choice because it’s so true to me and where I am in my life,” said Miranda.
Written by Miranda with Nicolle Galyon and Natalie Hemby, “Automatic” is the first single from Miranda’s RCA Records Nashville album Platinum, and the song marks Miranda’s 6th #1 single.
“This song is all about living in the now, and enjoying it, and I’m so grateful that people have responded so positively to it. I like simple things, and that’s how we live, and this song brings it back to that,” she said.
The song caps a week of activities for Miranda that included performances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Good Morning America, The View, CMT Music Awards, and the CMA Music Festival before she joined fellow Texan George Strait on stage Saturday for his historic Cowboy Rides Away Tour finale in Arlington, TX.
Platinum is available HERE, via Amazon and iTunes. Miranda kicks off her Crystal Light Presents Platinum Tour on July 10 in Ft. Loramie, OH.
