“Wisdom & Knowledge” is an understatement for the founding members of Mayven, Beth Current and Josh Sudduth. These two artists have been creating music since early childhood, and with a catalog full of original work, this power duo is expanding the market for their unique sound, and breaking ground on several exciting new projects.
With the upcoming release of their debut album in 2014, Beth will be the first to admit her music has evolved from diverse and slightly tormented to meaningful and passionate. “My focus has shifted dramatically, and the music is a direct reflection of where I’m going, not necessarily where I’ve been”. Her band mate and co-writer Josh echo’s those sentiments; “We are creating some incredible music, and it’s been so encouraging to have the attention and support of some amazing producers, artists and publishers”.
From her earliest memories, Beth was performing for friends and family at every opportunity. She proudly credits her Mother as the biggest influence on her music, and Beth is anxious to spread her wings and begin contributing on works for other artists, including several opportunities to collaborate with Grammy-nominated songwriters this summer. When asked to describe herself, Beth answered; “I’m accident prone, and will probably end up living in a protective bubble, but in the meantime, I love to laugh and play sports”. Odd’s are, this young artist is prone for a little more than something accidental. From writing and co-producing her self-titled EP, to penning the latest songs for Mayven’s new record, Beth is focused and confident. “I love how music makes me feel, and having an opportunity to develop a new project with Josh is really wonderful.”
Musician, writer, engineer, producer, there’s not much Josh Sudduth isn’t capable of doing. From co-producing Beth’s EP, to working with KPI artists Bo Allen, Buffy Lawson and newcomer Abigail Grace, Josh has the patience and skills to hang in the mix with music’s heavy hitters. When asked about his influences, Josh will often reference Mayday Parade and Switchfoot among others. In fact, he was recently invited to Nashville for a meeting with a pillar among industry producers. “It was surreal to not only receive a compliment on the work, but to be invited to Nashville for a meeting was incredible”. “I’m thrilled to join KPI, with their amazing staff and incredible roster of talented song writers”. When he’s not creating music or producing other artist’s work, Josh can be found burning stress and building endurance in the cross-fit gym.
Combined with their passion for writing and performing, Beth and Josh have already begun collaborating with other KPI writers and co-writers on various projects for TV, Film and specific industry ventures. Additionally, Mayven will begin booking tour dates for 2014, in advance of their first single, and Josh is actively producing for other regional artists, while supporting production for various acts already on tour. “As we enter a new phase of the business in 2014, it’s important to cultivate a broad range of musical and production abilities, and this duo is unlike anything we have encountered in a very long time! Based on the caliber of writers like Beth & Josh on our roster, my expectation is nothing short of new TV/Film sync projects, album and single cuts, and amazing original music to share with fans around the world.” Louis Police| KPI President & CEO
