Nashville, Tenn — Singer-songwriter Johnny Dailey is pulling on heartstrings with his brand new single and music video for “Over A Girl,” available everywhere today Friday, February 24, 2023. Premiering exclusively with American Songwriter yesterday, the tune cleverly highlights the habits often formed in new and lasting relationships, employing Dailey’s signature knack for intricate lyrics and catchy melodies. “I hope when people hear this song for the first time, it either takes them back to meeting that person for the first time and reminiscing on all the feelings they felt in that moment, or I hope that it relates to somebody that’s currently in this moment, driving their truck to pick up a girl that they’re going to spend their life with one day” Dailey shared with American Songwriter for the exclusive premiere of the track.
Accompanying the single, the official music video, which is available now and currently featured on CMT.com, provides a rural backdrop fit for the laid-back love song. Written by Dailey alongside songwriting heavyweights Josh Osborne (Sam Hunt, Morgan Wallen, Kacey Musgraves) and Scooter Carusoe (Kenny Chesney, Chris Janson, Taylor Swift), “Over A Girl” captures a heartfelt sentiment of unwavering love in a timeless relationship.
