Food, beautiful weather, and country music – what more do you need? I had the privilege to cover Jimmie Allen‘s show at the Martin County Shrimp & Lobster Festival in Stuart, Florida. The event runs Friday through Sunday, with each day ending in a concert. Vendors set up around Memorial Park, and a large stage is set up front and center. It really was a great space that allowed everyone a great view of the performance. Parking was free, and it was very easy to get to, which is always a win in my book!
I’ve followed Delaware native Jimmie Allen for quite a while, but this was my first time seeing him live. He did not disappoint! Allen immediately grabbed everyone’s attention as soon as he began his set. He played a variety of songs, including Toby Keith’s hit “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” since he toured with Keith last year. We heard other covers, tracks from his own EP, and unreleased music that will be out later this year. Let me tell you, we’re in for a treat when those songs are released! Allen was a great performer who clearly knows how to work a stage and engage fans. I posted a photo to Instagram of my group on our way to the show. He recognized us, and was sure to let us know. He is one of the most down to earth artists I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Allen hung out at his merch tent after his performance. He took photos and signed autographs for everyone who lined up to meet him. He’s the real deal, and one that you should absolutely be following. You can request his debut single, “Best Shot,” on your local country station now!
Thank you to the Martin County Shrimp & Seafood Festival for allowing me to cover the incredible event!
