Jacob Davis‘ drummer, Caleb Allensworth (29), recently had unexplained, unbearable pain and went to the emergency room. Doctor’s discovered a large intestinal tumor and completed an emergency surgery for removal. The day before being released from the hospital, Allensworth was informed that he has stage 3 colon cancer. He is scheduled to under go six months of chemotherapy beginning in May. He and his wife Tori have health insurance. However, as we all know, hospital bills begin to pile up very quickly. Friends and family have created a page where you can donate to Allensworth’s medical bills. They wrote, “Cancer comes at a great cost not only physically, emotionally and spiritually, but also financially. Despite having health insurance, there are already thousands of dollars in uncovered medical fees, to say nothing of travelling expenses and lost wages, all of which are destined to increase with time. Tori will be periodically missing work to prioritize time for Caleb’s care, and Caleb’s ability to work is now uncertain at best. Most importantly, Caleb and Tori dream of starting a family of their own. Caleb’s chemotherapy treatments will render him unable to start a family naturally. They are already taking steps make starting a family possible, but this comes at a great expense. Realistically, the rippling costs of this burden will be incurred for many years to come. “
If you are able to help in any way, please do so. You can check out Caleb’s story and donate here.
