LYRX is breaking the boundaries of country music with her debut single “Take the Money.” Since her brother is Shay Mooney of top country duo Dan + Shay, she’s gotten tips on how to navigate the industry from the best. She’s also written with songwriting legends Shane McAnally, Jeffrey Steele, Zac Maloy, Danny Orton, Benji Davis and more. She even co-wrote Walker Hayes current single “90s Country.”
1. What is one thing you want fans to know about you?
I’m super easy to hang with and I love talking with my fans! I always try to answer my messages and I love seeing who’s following me.
2. What was the inspiration behind your current single “Take The Money”?
It honestly came from the concept of how everyone is so concerned with “the machine” and popping out songs that sound like a hit. I just wanna write songs that are fun and mean something to me! I just wanna “take the country” and not worry about how much money it’ll make me.
3. What else can fans look forward to this year?
Lots of shows, more singles, and hopefully getting to meet them!
I LOVE this girl! She is multi talented and an absolute sweetheart! I wish her nothing but success because she deserves it!
