INTERVIEW: Lost Saints

Nashville based trio Lost Saints have been busy in quarantine working on their new music and finding creative ways to still reach fans.  We spoke with the band about their latest single “Hook Up,” their first music video and what they have coming up next.  Check out our chat below!

Tell us a bit about the writing process for “Hook Up” when was the song written and where
did the inspiration come from?

It was written a little over a year ago. The inspiration came
from just wanting to have a good time with friends and leaving your worries behind for a day.
We all need to do that every now and then, especially now with all the stress of the pandemic. It
makes you think about hot summer days when the only thing on your mind is hanging out on the
water, relaxing, and having a great time with friends. So, if that’s your plan, then here’s your
song! We’ve got the hook up.

“Hook Up” is the perfect summer song but how did you know it should be your follow up
single to “We Don’t Fight?”

With “We Don’t Fight” being such a heartbreaker, we wanted
listeners to know that we also have a fun side and we felt like “Hook Up” was the perfect song to
convey that. It’s one of those songs that just puts you in a good mood and we couldn’t be happier
with the response it has received.

You’re released the “We Don’t Fight” official music video on CMT – where did the
inspiration for the video come from?

We wanted fans to be able to see themselves in the video
and be able to relate to the couple in the song. Most of us, at one point or another, have
experienced an unhealthy relationship and had to walk away from that situation. It’s a tough
place to be in, but you ultimately realize that good can come out of something bad even if the
only good thing is as the song says, “we don’t fight anymore”. The video presents an amazing
visual of the story in the song and the actors were able to paint a picture of the couple described
in “We Don’t Fight”. We were able to capture some great imagery for the video and we hope
everyone else loves it as much as we do.

Was this the first video you’ve shot as a group?  What was the experience like?

Yes, this was our first concept video. We were seriously like kids at Christmas seeing the
finished product. As we stated previously this was our first “real music video” and we were a
little nervous going into it only because we always want to put out quality content and give our
fans something that they will remember. We worked so hard to make the video the best that it
could be and honestly it exceeded our own expectations which is just icing on the cake!

Clearly “Hook Up” would be the perfect song to perform at a concert.  How has
performing this and your other songs via live stream changed the way you perform?

“Hook Up” always got a great response at our live shows prior to Covid just because of the energy of
the song. It was definitely one of our favorites to perform. We really haven’t changed the way
we perform the song via live stream other than the obvious lack of a full band. We still try to
bring that high energy even on camera. The song is so fun and upbeat that there’s really no way
to do it other than just going all in even if it’s just our three vocals and an acoustic guitar.

Though everything is up in the air, how do you plan to close out the rest of 2020?  What’s
next?

We have several irons in the fire! We’ve been working on new music, that’s
always our main focus. We were recently invited to perform on two more episodes of“The Dailey & Vincent Show” that airs on Opry Circle TV and will be filming those in
September. We’re also working on a couple more songs for release in September and October,
the latter being a Christmas tune. We also have an outdoor live show October 14th at the Georgia
Mountain Fall Festival that has yet to be cancelled so for more details on that and to check out
