In honor of Memorial Day this year, chart-topping country star Kristian Bush will perform his song “Story Of A Soldier” at the 10th Annual National Memorial Day Parade, the largest Memorial Day event in the nation, in Washington, D.C. today. In conjunction with his performance, fans can download the song beginning today, Monday May 26 through Monday, June 2, HERE, in exchange for a pay-what-you-wish donation. All of the proceeds from “Story Of A Soldier” will benefit the American Veterans Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to guarding the legacies and honoring the sacrifices of all American veterans.
Written by Bush, “Story Of A Soldier” was inspired by his family’s background with the military; his father was an officer in the Army and his grandfather served in World War II.
“I know what it is like to look up to a soldier. I know why we applaud on a plane when a soldier comes home, and what those ribbons really mean on the back of those cars. To the members of the U.S. Armed Services, past and present, thank each of you for what you do and for keeping my home and family safe and sound and free. God bless you. I wrote this song for you,” shares Bush.
His special performance of “Story Of A Soldier” will be broadcast live on REELZ, as well as televised on the Pentagon Channel for servicemen and women stationed around the globe.
Currently, Bush is on the road with his 2014 PUT YOUR SOUL IN IT Tour, backed by a five-piece band. In between shows, he is in the studio working with longtime producer Byron Gallimore on his first solo album to be released via Streamsound Records. The lead single from the highly anticipated project will hit country radio nationwide this summer.
