There’s nothing more exciting than seeing an artist play as an opener at a bar, watching them tour with artists like Florida Georgia Line, do stadium shows as openers, and then go on their own headlining tour. This is just a little piece of my concert history with Thomas Rhett in the four years that I’ve followed him. This weekend I got to attend a sold out show at the Nutter Center on his own tour and it was so awesome to see! TR talked about how he can remember his first show only having 25 people at it and how it made him so excited to know he was getting ready to go play a show for 11,00 people!
~VIP~
I attended the pre-show VIP Q&A and acoustic show with TR. It was so worth it and I would recommend to anyone attending to go this route. Not only do you get a sweet fanny pack and extra time watching TR perform you’re also guaranteed a seat in the first 10 rows! Thomas Rhett answered questions from the fans about their soon to be two children, how he came up with the idea of his fan club being called the “Hometeam”, and even sang a few songs! When talking about how we’re all proud Buckeye fans, TR jokingly asked “So all I have to do is should O-H and y’all will shout back?”, followed by a good OH-IO chant (he later did this in his concert approximately ten times)!
~Openers~
This show was the first time I had ever seen Russell Dickerson and Ryan Hurd. These artists went on before Kelsea Ballerini and they were awesome! TR has a great lineup! All three openers put on an amazing show! While Kelsea was battling sickness she still slayed her performance and represented for the only female on tour!
~Thomas Rhett~
Thomas Rhett is an amazing performer. He did nothing less than leave every ounce of energy he had on stage. From the minute he hit the stage he was running around (the stage and arena), and singing all of our favorite songs. TR sang upbeat songs like South Side and Vacation and then slowed things down with Die A Happy Man and Star of the Show. He ran around to the back of the arena sang some songs that he’s written for other artists and then brought out surprise guest Danielle Bradbery to sing Playing With Fire. TR even included some videos of him growing up from toddler to teenager and talked about how he has written songs his entire life. TR signed off with a video of toddler TR saying something along the lines of “thanks for coming to my show”. TR put on an amazing show and I would highly recommend attending if he comes your way!
