The song is the latest release from his forthcoming debut album due out this year.
Country artist Greylan James is painfully reliving a relationship gone wrong in his brand new release “My Future” available everywhere today, Friday, January 13. Highlighting his knack for detailed songwriting, the deceiving title takes listeners on a journey from a promising love story to heartbreak beyond repair. Listen to the brand new song here.
Written by Greylan and Matt Roy (Kane Brown, Chris Janson, Chris Young), “My Future” marks the second release from Greylan’s forthcoming full-length project due out later this year. Following the widespread success of “Old Truck Young Love,” which he penned alongside NBA superstar Jimmy Butler, the songs offer a glimpse of what is to come from the hit writer’s debut effort.
“This song felt like a special one from the beginning,” shares Greylan. “Sad country songs have gotten me through my breakups, and I hope “My Future” can help somebody out there through theirs. I’m glad it’s finally out in the world.”
Later this month, Greylan will be performing “My Future” and much more as he opens for Old Dominion on the No Bad Vibes Tour throughout the US. Tickets are available here to the nationwide tour beginning in Evansville, Indiana on January 19 and ending July 30 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Greylan made his way to Nashville at 18 where he quickly signed with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) to a global publishing deal. Since then, he’s been featured on NBC’s The Voice, named one of the best guitarists in the world under 21 by Guitar Center Magazine’s Brotherhood of the Guitar Top 100 and earned his first No. 1 single with Kenny Chesney’s “Happy Does.” In 2022, Greylan had a number of high-profile songwriting cuts including Darius Rucker’s “Ol’ Church Hymn,” Breland’s “For What It’s Worth” as well as Jordan Davis’ “Next Thing You Know.” As he continues to carve out his own path as an artist, Greylan has already racked up over 1 million streams on Spotify alone thus far with only a handful of releases, and has also garnered support from People Country, Billboard, American Songwriter and CMT among others. Building an impressive discography and a loyal fanbase, it’s clear Greylan is a superstar just beginning to hit his stride.
