The Rising Star Releases Emotive Track, “2 Years Back,” Spinning on The Highway Now
Nashville, Tenn. – After heading into the SiriusXM studios in downtown Nashville, for what he believed to be a normal interview, Greylan James received a special surprise from SiriusXM host Storme Warren. The longtime host of SiriusXM’s The Highway channel shared that Greylan is the newest ‘Highway Find’. Warren later treated listeners to the official radio premiere of “2 Years Back,” the new song from Greylan that was released today, Friday, February 17. Listen to his latest release here.
A highly coveted honor within the country music community, the “Highway Find” program is part of SiriusXM The Highway’s commitment to spotlighting outstanding new talent in the genre. Greylan joins an elite group of power players with the accolade, including reigning ACM New Male Artist of the Year Parker McCollum, reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Luke Combs, Gabby Barrett, Maren Morris, Dan + Shay, Cole Swindell Florida Georgia Line, and many more.
“When I got surprised with being the next Highway Find, it literally felt like watching my life change before my eyes,” Greylan shared. “It has jump started so many incredible careers, & I’ve heard so many of my favorite country artists say: ‘It all started when The Highway got on board’. Co-written by Greylan, Matt Roy (Kane Brown, Chris Young, Chris Janson), Brock Berryhill (Kane Brown, Chris Young, LoCash), “2 Years Back” explores the aftermath of a relationship with a retrospective point of view that highlight’s Greylan’s impeccable songwriting and artistry that align him perfectly with The Highway’s commitment to spotlighting outstanding new talent in the genre. 2023 has already started off strong for the singer/songwriter who is currently on tour opening for Old Dominion on the No Bad Vibes Tour throughout the US. Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Greylan made his way to Nashville at 18 where he quickly signed with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) to a global publishing deal. Since then, he’s been featured on NBC’s The Voice, named one of the best guitarists in the world under 21 by Guitar Center Magazine’s Brotherhood of the Guitar Top 100 and earned his first No. 1 single with Kenny Chesney’s “Happy Does.” In 2022, Greylan had a number of high-profile songwriting cuts including Darius Rucker’s “Ol’ Church Hymn,” Breland’s “For What It’s Worth” as well as Jordan Davis’ “Next Thing You Know.” As he continues to carve out his own path as an artist, Greylan has already racked up over 1 million streams on Spotify alone thus far with only a handful of releases, and has also garnered support from People Country, Billboard, American Songwriter and CMT among others. Building an impressive discography and a loyal fanbase, it’s clear Greylan is a superstar just beginning to hit his stride.
