Sometimes when people come together, magic happens. Case in point: Grayson Rogers. The Florida-based band exploded onto the local Southwest state scene, turning heads and finding themselves as opening acts for some of today’s biggest headliners such as Sara Evans, Dustin Lynch, and Alan Jackson only three short months after performing their first show. Formed in March 2012, the “in your face” country quartet brings an edgier sound to country music, but don’t put a label on them:
“Make no mistake, we are country. But it’s not as simple as just calling us country-rock.” says bassist CJ. Adds in frontman Grayson Rogers, “We want to appeal to a large audience so we really try to run the full gamut with our music, from edgier songs to more traditional.”
With wide musical interests and influences ranging from hardcore metal and punk, Christian rock, Chris Daughtry, to modern country heavy weights Eric Church and Jason Aldean, the tastefully unique sound of the Grayson Rogers is turning heads and grabbing fans of all ages.
With success in such a short period of time they are prepared for the transition to a bigger platform. Named the 2013 Band of the Year by Spot Magazine, Rogers keeps it all in perspective: having just come off of playing for thousands at the Florida Country Superfest, they know what it’s like to perform in empty bars or with only two attendees.
“Our only career goal is to keep going. We know someone will always be trying to catch up and get ahead, so as artists we just strive to stay true to ourselves while giving fans the music they love and reaching out to more people” says Rogers.
With their debut album, “All Fired Up” being released this September, it is no doubt that Grayson Rogers will soon be headlining in a town near you.
The charity and compassion of the band is also to be taken into account: 10% of all proceeds from the debut album pre-order will go to Homes for Our Troops, a non-profit organization which builds homes for disabled veterans. With the pre-sale of “All Fired Up” reaching 70% of the bands target goal within the first 10 days, this album is sure to be a hot commodity. Slated for performances at major events within the next year, including being finalists for the Simple Man Cruise with Lynryd Skynryd, NASCAR weekend at Homestead International Speedway and a tour scheduled in the near future, it will not be long before the goal is surpassed.
