Only a few dates remain on the final leg of recently crowned ACM Entertainer of the Year and reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year George Strait’s The Cowboy Rides Away Tour Presented by Quicken Loans, but Strait is announcing today the addition of a tour stop Thursday, June 5 at State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas. Tickets for the added show will go on sale to the public at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 2.
As only the “King of Country” can, Strait has wooed fans of all generations at every packed-in show on his final concert tour. The only act in the history of music to have a Top 10 hit every year for over three decades, Strait announces the addition after his sold-out stop in Tulsa, Okla. Saturday night, which prompted Tulsa World to rave: “For every song, Strait sounded spot on with his iconic voice. The Texas twang was as good as it’s ever been. [. . .] So many of these songs have deep connections to the generations of fans. Several people [. . .] brought emotional reactions several times, no doubt pleased with not just the song, but how it still remained iconically good, holding up in this changing popular country landscape.”
After The Cowboy Rides Away Tour wraps in June, Strait will continue to record new music for longtime label home MCA Nashville and will perform select dates across the country.
