After incredible success with “Slower,” (we’re talking over 13 million streams on Spotify!) Filmore has released three new tracks. “Love That About You” and “W.I.L.D.” were both featured on the Spotify New Music Friday playlist and are quickly gaining spins like their predecessor. “Country Song” rounds out the EP titled Last Year.
“Love That About You” is exactly what you’d expect it to be based on the title. It’s the “Filmore sound” that we’ve come to know and love – a seamless blend of pop and country. This song is all about knowing the small, weird habits of someone you love. The way you learn new things about the person each time you’re with them. The way they “buy three pairs of shades because they’re gonna lose two.” The way their “favorite song changes every day.”
Yeah you’re beautiful, and you ain’t got a clue. Oooh, girl I love that about you. You know you can’t do no wrong. Yeah, every time I’m around you, I see a little bit of you that you don’t. So unpredictable, you’re so unforgettable. Girl, so don’t go changing no time soon, cause I love that about you.
You can feel the heartache in “W.I.L.D.” I feel like it could be a sequel to an older Filmore song, “Echo.” (You’ll just have to check them both out to see what I mean… Lucky for you, they’re both below.) The girl is gone, but unfortunately the memories are far from having the same fate.

While all three songs are great, I’ve got to say that “Country Song” is my favorite. It’s catchy on a surface level, but if you really pay attention, the clever writing shines through. There are many country titles woven into the lyrics of this song. As someone who has loved country music her whole life, I totally get this song, relate to it, and love what it has to say. It’s kind of funny to say that, because that’s really what the song is about. Also, good luck trying to sit still while this is playing…
My heart beats to a country song. It’s like they know my story every time it comes on. If you live it, then you know it, if you know it, then you get it. Yeah, my heart beats, my heart beats to a country song.
