Eric Paslay has a huge debut single Friday Night as a performer that he wrote a few years back with Rose Falcon and Rob Crosby. The song may sound familiar to some fans.

As a writer when you try to create music you think of who the song would fit and while working on ‘Friday Night’ all the writers, including Paslay, felt it had a Lady Antebellum vibe, so Eric released the song.

“At the time I had kinda had my own album done,” Paslay tells Dan Van from Albright & O’Malley & Brenner. “And we sent it to their producer and they pretty much immediately recorded it for the ‘Own The Night’ record, I think it was the last song they recorded for the album.”

Eric says Charles Kelley, Dave Haywood and Hillary Scott all wanted it to be a single from the ‘Own The Night’ album but sometimes fate plays a factor in good things.

“Who knows why but just never was,” Paslay tells Dan Van. “I guess it was meant to be that I was suppose to be the one who put it out to radio and record it, and now it’s a hit on the radio.”

Eric has a busy year ahead of promoting his debut album releasing his self titled debut album on February 4th and will be joining Brantley Gilbert’s Let It Ride tour on March 27th.
