Three-time GRAMMY award winning entertainer Darius Rucker will appear on ABC’s Good Morning America on Monday, Dec. 22, performing his original holiday song, “What God Wants For Christmas.” The tune appears on Rucker’s first Christmas album, Home For The Holidays, released on October 27 on Capitol Records Nashville. Rucker co-wrote “What God Wants For Christmas” along with the other original, “Candy Cane Christmas,” for the 12-track album, which also features holiday standards such as “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” and “Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow.”
“It’s so hard to write a Christmas song that hasn’t already been written,” says Rucker of the song he co-wrote with his producer Frank Rogers and Monty Criswell. “This song embodies what the holidays are all about and reminds folks to think about what we can give instead of get this time of year. I am really proud of this song and the beautiful sentiment it imparts. I’m so excited to share it on Good Morning America!”
Rucker is finishing work on his fourth solo country album, to be released in 2015. The album’s debut single “Homegrown Honey” is currently climbing the Country charts.
