Warner Bros. Records (WBR) today announced that it has signed a global recording contract with renowned country singer-songwriter, Brandy Clark, who comes to WBR thanks to Slate Creek Records. Clark is currently nominated for New Artist of the Year and Song of the Year (for co-writing Kacey Musgraves’ “Follow Your Arrow“), for this year’s CMA Awards (airing live on ABC-TV on Wednesday, Nov. 5), where she will also present.
“I am thrilled to be working with Dan McCarroll and the Warner Bros. LA staff,” said Clark. “I’m so lucky to have a musical home that embraces and encourages originality and creativity. I’m so excited to be making music with them and look forward to this next step in my career.”
Having already established herself as a hit songwriter for a wide range of renowned country artists, Clark released her debut album as a recording artist, 12 Stories, in 2013. The album featured the singles “Stripes,” “Pray to Jesus,” and “Hungover,” and peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart.
Clark has had cuts performed by some of the biggest country artists, The Band Perry recorded her first No. 1 single, “Better Dig Two,” followed shortly after by another No. 1 in Miranda Lambert’s “Mama’s Broken Heart,” which was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2013 CMA Awards, and for Best Country Song at the 2013 Grammys. She is currently touring the US as part of Eric Church’s ‘The Outsiders World Tour.
