ARTIST FEATURE: A Thousand Horses

A Thousand Horses are a band I’ve loved for a while now. Their hit songs “Smoke” and “(This Ain’t No) Drunk Dial” have always been songs that I listen to and love. They’re back with a song that we can all get behind, a drinking song, appropriately titled “Drinkin’ Song”. This song was released January 10th and since then has over 700,000 plays on Spotify. The anthem tells you why drinkin’ songs are the best:

“Everybody loves a drinkin’ song, to get you going when the week’s been long. It goes good with a drink too strong, a glass raised everytime it comes on. Everybody in the party crowd, they only want to sing it loud, even if you get the words all wrong, ‘cause everybody loves a drinkin’ song.”

The band also released a video for “Livin’ My Best Life”. Since we can’t go live our best life right now, we can live vicariously through the video!

I grew up in a small rural town in Ohio. I grew up on 90s country music with songs like Strawberry Wine and artists like Kenny Chesney playing on the radio. I grew up listening to only country music and to this day still do. If you ask anyone who knows me they will probably tell you, I am always at a show. People don’t typically ask what I have been doing, they typically ask “What was the last show you went to?” or “Who are you going to see next?”. There’s just something about knowing and believing in an artist and then watching people slowly fall in love with their music that will always attract me to this genre!
