Maddie & Tae follow up “Girl in a Country Song” with a more serious approach to their second single “Fly,’ off of their debut EP, released to iTunes November 14, 2014. The duo took a big leap with this song given the success they had with their fun loving debut single touching upon the abundance of bro-country in country music lately. “Fly” allows us to hear a slower, more melodic, side to Maddie & Tae. Further stepping away from the recent trend of trucks, parties, and passion, this song fits right in with the empowering songs that have been surfacing recently. Although it may be difficult for older generations to connect to the younger duo, we have all been through trials and tribulations at some point, and can relate to the importance of persistence through those times. The lyrics are notably motivational and inspiring and may be exactly the message our younger generation of listeners need right now.

Dierks Bently recently announced Maddie & Tae will be joining Canaan Smith, and Kip Moore for his 2015 Sounds of Summer Tour! The girls are also making a late night appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to perform “Fly” on Friday January 23rd.
