Take Part In Second Annual “Tweet-N-Greet” During CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night To Rock Tomorrow Night

CMA will host its second live Twitter feed on ABC.com, Wednesday, Sept. 1 (8:00 – 11:00 PM/ET), during the broadcast of “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock,” on the ABC Television Network.
Fans can log on to ABC.com to see Tweets from artists including Julianne Hough(@JulianneHough), Lady Antebellum (@ladyantebellum), Reba McEntire (@Reba), Tim McGraw (@TimMcGrawArtist), Blake Shelton (@BlakeShelton), Keith Urban (@KeithUrban), and Zac Brown Band (@ZacBrownBand). Fans can also visit CMAfest.com to follow along with the show using their Facebook account. Each artist will be posting their observations about the three-hour concert special as well as behind-the-scenes tidbits, anecdotes about other artists’ performances, as well as memories from past CMA Music Festivals.
The “Tweet ‘N’ Greet” will create an interactive feed between the fans and artists. Fans will have a direct connection to some of their favorite performers, not only allowing them the opportunity to ask questions, but also providing them with behind-the-scenes access. In addition, CMA (@CountryMusic) will be updating fans with information on the participating artists’ upcoming album releases, tour dates, and appearances. The official hashtag for the event is #cmatv. Fans using the hashtag will be entered to win prizes during the show. For more information, visit: CMAfest.com/tweet.

“As an event, CMA Music Festival is about these unique interaction opportunities between the artist community and the fans,” said Ben Bennett, CMA Digital Marketing Manager. “The Tweet ‘N’ Greet is a fun, inventive way of translating that artist/fan connection to the ABC broadcast. The artists and fans get to communicate while they share the common experience of watching the television show.”

CMA’s first “Tweet ‘N’ Greet” occurred during the 2009 airing of “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock.”  The chatter created in the social media space helped keep CMA Music Festival as a Top 10 trending topic on Twitter for the entire broadcast.

“CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” is hosted by Tim McGraw and features Taylor Swift in the first network television performance of her new single “Mine.” Also performing are Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Billy Currington, Alan Jackson, Jamey Johnson, Kid Rock, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Justin Moore, Brad Paisley, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Josh Turner, Uncle Kracker, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Zac Brown Band.

Chris Young Earns His First CMA Award Nomination!

Chris Young co-hosted this morning’s announcement at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium of the final nominees in seven of the 12 categories for The 44th Annual CMA Awards, and Young also walked away a nominee, earning his first CMA nomination:  New Artist of the Year.

Reacting to the news, Young said:

“It’s just a great feeling.  To be recognized like this as an artist, it means a lot to you, especially me, being my first CMA nomination.”  “Probably the thing that I’m most proud of is just really how everybody else has treated my career.  I’ve always been really excited and just proud to be on RCA and proud to be able to have my music heard,”

From the fans to all the people who work with him, Young says their continuing belief in him makes the good moments like this a shared celebration.

“I think about how excited I am, and then I’ll have people come up that are just as excited as me.  I’m just really lucky that I’ve got people like that in my corner.”

The news is yet another part of an incredible year for Chris, who marked another first this month with the RIAA Gold Digital Single certification of his #1 smash, “Gettin’ You Home.”  The song was the first of Young’s back-to-back #1 singles, with Chris topping the chart for three weeks this summer with “The Man I Want to Be,” the title track to his current album.
After touring with Alan Jackson earlier this year, Young has been on the road this summer on the Rascal Flatts Nothing Like This Tour.  Young will re-join Alan Jackson for the fall leg of his 2010 tour, also featuring The Band Perry, beginning November 4 in Sacramento.   Chris is on the radio and video airwaves now with “Voices,” the newest hit from his acclaimed sophomore album, The Man I Want to Be.
Fans can tune-in for all the excitement of The 44th Annual CMA Awards, as the show airs live from Nashville on Wednesday, November 10, at 8 PM ET, on ABC Television.  For all the latest information on Chris, visit www.chrisyoungcountry.com

Rascal Flatts ‘Why Wait’ Video Shoot In Vegas

Rascal Flatts filmed a music video at the Palms Casino Resort in Vegas on Monday for their upcoming song “Why Wait”. Their new album titled Nothing Like This comes out on November 16th.

Cheryl Says There Is Nothing Like Those Flatts Boys

Rascal Flatts rolled their “Nothing Like This Tour” into Bristow, VA Friday, August 14.  Catching a break from the sweltering heat and ferocious thunderstorms attacking our area recently, the weather was delightfully balmy with reduced humidity – just perfect for a concert.

RCA recording artist, Chris Young, opened the show with his rich baritone vocals and country boy charm.  Chris appeared to enjoy himself on stage, joking with his band mates during “Beer and Gasoline,” and easily shifted gears, appealing to family values singing “Voices” and “The Man I Want to Be.”  The ladies in the crowd certainly seemed “thunderstruck” as Chris sang his number 1 hit “Gettin’ You Home.”

Kellie Pickler sure brought the heat when she arrived on stage.  Dressed in a little black dress that had the guys following her every move, Kellie danced and pranced through songs like “Best Days of Your Life,” “Didn’t You Know How Much I Loved You,” “Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful,”  and “Red High Heels.”  When she slowed things down with “I Wonder,” I noticed a lot of bling – her microphone sparkled and so did the engagement ring from her fiancé, Kyle Jacobs.

Rascal Flatts promised ‘Nothing Like This Tour’ and they had a couple of roving reporters with a film crew seeking people to interview and project on the hi-def screen between artists.   Let me just say we saw folks with very unique “talents” in addition to some cute couples – one teenage couple on their first date managed to get that awkward first kiss out of the way early.  Oh my!
Rascal Flatts (Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus, and Joe Don Rooney) finally took the stage to thunderous applause and sang hit after hit.  Celebrating 10 years of music they mixed old and new songs together like: “Praying for Daylight,” “I’m Movin’ On,” “Mayberry,” “I Melt,” “These Days,” with “Me and My Gang,” “Fast Cars and Freedom,” “Here’s To You,” “What Hurts the Most,” “Here Comes Goodbye,” and “Unstoppable.”  They also introduced their newest single, “Why Wait” about a guy who’s already bought his girl a diamond ring and can’t wait to get to church and get married.
I was impressed once again with Rascal Flatts’ rich harmonies, showcased even more beautifully when they talked about how they began singing in church at an early age and broke into the hymn “Oh the Blood of Jesus.”  They continued to demonstrate their versatility singing snippets of “Take It To the Limit” (Eagles) and “Open Arms” (Journey) then followed up with a classic Rascal Flatts song “Bless the Broken Road.”
Up-tempo “Life Is A Highway” and encore “Summer Nights” which included Chris Young and Kellie Pickler had the crowd on its feet singing loud and strong.  There’s nothing like those Flatts boys…
Sounds like one hell of a concert!  We are hoping to see the guys on the second leg on their tour.  Be sure to head over to Cheryl’s site she has tons of great pictures from the show and other shows she has been to.  You can view her site here

Due to this strong demand, we suggest that fans buy their tickets now rather than waiting until it is too late.”

Earlier this year, the 2010 Festival attracted more than 65,000 fans from all 50 states and 26 nations.
