Dierks Bentley Turns Into A New Yorker (At Least For Four Days Straight)

Dierks Bentley will take New York City “Up On The Ridge” for four nights beginning Oct. 18.   Each consecutive night will showcase a different aspect of Bentley’s award-winning career in four different venues across the city.  Bentley will also welcome unparalleled special guests, including the Del McCoury Band, the Punch Brothers and more to his first-ever residency.   A limited number of four day passes will be available on dierks.com beginning Fri., Sept 10 with single tickets available both on his web site and through each venue. Sirius/XM will also give fans across the country the opportunity to listen in as they stream the shows on both The Highway and Bluegrass Junction channels.

“This entire year has been about following my heart, musically,” says Bentley.  “Getting the opportunity to be in New York in the Fall, playing with my heroes and my friends is really exciting…it’s a cool way for me to take everything we’ve done this year and pick it apart and really focus on each different element of the music for an entire night.”

Bentley will kick off his New York City residency playing all his chart-topping country hits at the Bowery Ballroom.   He will spend the next evening with bluegrass legends the Del McCoury Band at City Winery. The week will progress with an intimate singer/songwriter night at Joe’s Pub where Bentley will be joined by award-winning songwriters Jessi Alexander, Jim Beavers and Jon Randall Stewart. The run will conclude in Brooklyn with acoustic virtuosos the Punch Brothers.

Take Part In Second Annual “Tweet-N-Greet” During CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night To Rock Tomorrow Night

CMA will host its second live Twitter feed on ABC.com, Wednesday, Sept. 1 (8:00 – 11:00 PM/ET), during the broadcast of “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock,” on the ABC Television Network.
Fans can log on to ABC.com to see Tweets from artists including Julianne Hough(@JulianneHough), Lady Antebellum (@ladyantebellum), Reba McEntire (@Reba), Tim McGraw (@TimMcGrawArtist), Blake Shelton (@BlakeShelton), Keith Urban (@KeithUrban), and Zac Brown Band (@ZacBrownBand). Fans can also visit CMAfest.com to follow along with the show using their Facebook account. Each artist will be posting their observations about the three-hour concert special as well as behind-the-scenes tidbits, anecdotes about other artists’ performances, as well as memories from past CMA Music Festivals.
The “Tweet ‘N’ Greet” will create an interactive feed between the fans and artists. Fans will have a direct connection to some of their favorite performers, not only allowing them the opportunity to ask questions, but also providing them with behind-the-scenes access. In addition, CMA (@CountryMusic) will be updating fans with information on the participating artists’ upcoming album releases, tour dates, and appearances. The official hashtag for the event is #cmatv. Fans using the hashtag will be entered to win prizes during the show. For more information, visit: CMAfest.com/tweet.

“As an event, CMA Music Festival is about these unique interaction opportunities between the artist community and the fans,” said Ben Bennett, CMA Digital Marketing Manager. “The Tweet ‘N’ Greet is a fun, inventive way of translating that artist/fan connection to the ABC broadcast. The artists and fans get to communicate while they share the common experience of watching the television show.”

CMA’s first “Tweet ‘N’ Greet” occurred during the 2009 airing of “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock.”  The chatter created in the social media space helped keep CMA Music Festival as a Top 10 trending topic on Twitter for the entire broadcast.

“CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” is hosted by Tim McGraw and features Taylor Swift in the first network television performance of her new single “Mine.” Also performing are Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Billy Currington, Alan Jackson, Jamey Johnson, Kid Rock, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Justin Moore, Brad Paisley, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Josh Turner, Uncle Kracker, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Zac Brown Band.

Miranda Lambert Gets Ready To Release Live DVD In October

Miranda Lambert will release her first performance DVD, Revolution: Live By Candlelight on October 12. The six-song DVD features rare, acoustic performances of five songs from her 2010 ACM Album of the Year, Revolution, including her back-to-back No. 1 singles, “White Liar,” and “The House That Built Me.” As an added bonus, the DVD also features one of her favorite songs, “Love Is Looking For You,” from her Kerosene album.

Revolution: Live By Candlelight also includes exclusive, never-before-seen footage of the stories behind the songs. The DVD was filmed in an intimate setting – a dimly lit stage surrounded with candles – which actually set off the fire alarm while recording.

Lambert is set to announce this year’s CMA Award final nominees in five categories with Dierks Bentley on Wednesday, Sept. 1 live from ABC’s Good Morning America studios in New York. The announcement will air in the 7:30 AM/CT half-hour segment of the morning news program. That same morning, Lambert will also be appearing as a guest on NBC’s Today Show in the 9:00 AM/CT hour.

She is also among the performers featured in that evening’s three-hour special CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock, on ABC (airs Wednesday, Sept. 1 7:00-10:00 PM/CT).  She performs her current single, “Only Prettier.”
