Katie Armiger To Perform For Girl Scouts At Headquarters September 1st

Cold River Records artist  Katie Armiger will be performing  at the launch event for the 2011 R.E.A.L (Remarkable Energetic Aspirational Leader) contest that Justine Magazine, in conjunction with Girl Scouts Of America, has put together. The event will take place Wednesday, September 1st at the Girl Scout Headquarters and will be attended by several hundred Girl Scouts ages 13 to 19 from the greater New York City area.

Katie, who was a Girl Scout herself, said: “I am so excited to be a part of this event to launch the R.E.A.L. Girl contest.  Justine Magazine and the Girl Scouts celebrate remarkable girls who give back every day and I think that is amazing. I am so honored to be able to be a part of that celebration and recognition.”

Justine Magazine is a national lifestyle magazine for teen girls that addresses real teen issues. The R.E.A.L. Girl contest, which is open only to current Girl Scout members ages 13 to 19, will conclude in  April 2011 with the winner appearing on the front cover of Justine Magazine. The 2011 contest will open for entries at www.justinemagazine.com on September 15th and end in January.

Fans Have Named Katie Armiger’s New Album…….

Katie Armiger teamed up with GACTV.com to have fans help name her third studio album, set for release on Cold River Records October 5. During the last two weeks over 1,300 fans visited the website to cast their vote for the album title and Confessions of a Nice Girl was the clear winner with over fifty percent of the votes.

“I think it’s incredible that so many fans voted to help pick the album title,” said Armiger. “Thank you to those fans and GAC for being so supportive and amazing. I couldn’t have dreamed up a better way to celebrate this release then with everyone who has been involved so far!”

Armiger wrote nine of the 13 tracks on Confessions of a Nice Girl. The album will include her hit singles “Kiss Me Now” and “Leaving Home,” which was chosen by over twenty high schools across the country as the 2010 graduation song.  For more information visit www.katiearmiger.com.

Katie Armiger Gives Fans Opportunity To Name New Album

Katie Armiger is teaming with GACtv.com to let fans select the name of her new album. Through July 28 fans can go here and cast their votes for one of three possible album titles— Guitar Picks & Lipstick, Confessions Of A Nice Girl, or High Heels & No Expectations. Due out Oct. 5, it will be the rising artist’s third studio effort on Cold River Records.

Armiger wrote nine of the thirteen tracks on the project that will include her hit singles “Kiss Me Now” and “Leaving Home.” The latter was chosen by over twenty high schools across the country as the 2010 graduation song (see video below). She penned the track with Sarah Buxton and Blair Daly.

“I’m really excited about the new music. I was so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with so many truly amazing and inspiring people,” Armiger says. “I thought this was a great way to get everyone who has helped get me where I am today involved in the process by helping to choose my album title. I cannot wait to see what they pick!”

Luke Bryan Joins 4th Annual Country Weekly Fashion Show and Concert

Luke Bryan has joined the lineup of the 4th Annual Country Weekly Fashion Show and Concert, at the Wildhorse Saloon tomorrow in Nashville.

Luke, joins host Clay Walker, emcee Suzanne Alexander (GAC), Joe Nichols, Bucky Covington, Pam Tillis, Aaron and Thea Tippin, Bo Bice, Katie Armiger, Trailer Choir, Cowboy Troy, Julie Roberts, Carter Twins, Trent Tomlinson, Sarah Darling, Whitney Duncan, Danielle Peck, Burns & Poe, Gwen Sebastian, Jesse Lee, Coldwater Jane, Brett Eldredge, Jeremy Crady, Brian Stace, Jessie James, John Carter and Johnny Gates of The Invite.

The event benefits Musicians On Call, a nonprofit organization with the mission of bringing music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities.

Doors open at 11 a.m. for the event. At 11:30 a.m. Joe Nichols will sit down with After MidNite’s Blair Garner for a little chat, followed by a short acoustic performance. The Fashion Show begins at noon with acoustic performances following at 1 p.m.

CMA Fest is Coming!!! Are You Ready?

Chevy: The Official Ride of Country Music, helps kick off the 2010 CMA Music Festival, on Wednesday, June 9, with “The Sixth Annual CMA Music Festival Kick-Off Parade” at 11:30 AM/CT, followed by “The Fifth Annual CMA Music Festival Block Party” at 1:00 PM/CT.
“The Sixth Annual CMA Music Festival Kick-Off Parade” will feature members of the National Guard driving Country Music artists in a wide variety of Chevy vehicles including the all new 2011 Silverado HD, Military Specialty Camaro, Silverados and Corvettes.
With Brenda Lee as Grand Marshal, other artists participating include: Lynn Anderson, Katie Armiger, Rodney Atkins, The Band Perry, Bo Bice, Ash Bowers, Carter Twins, Jeff Cook, Diana DeGarmo, Fast Ryde, Colt Ford, Brantley Gilbert, Gloriana, Josh Gracin, The Grascals, The Harters, Buddy Jewell, KingBilly, Jesse Lee, LoCash Cowboys, Lonestar, Jerrod Neimann, James Otto, Danielle Peck, Point of Grace, Marty Raybon, Pam Tillis, Trent Tomlinson, and Chuck Wicks.

Beginning at the corner of Church Street and Second Avenue, the procession will travel down Second Avenue to Broadway, turn right onto Broadway and end at Sixth Avenue.
Following the parade, “The Fifth Annual CMA Music Festival Block Party” will take place on the Chevy Music Stage on the Bridgestone Arena Plaza (at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Broadway). Free and open to the public, the lineup includes:

In addition to the musical entertainment, fans will have an opportunity to test drive a Chevy vehicle and support flood relief at the same time. Located on Fifth Avenue between Broadway and Demonbreun Street, the Chevy Ride and Drive will take place Thursday through Sunday, June 10-13, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM/CT. Attendees will be able to test drive a brand new Chevy vehicle of their choice including the all new Camaro, Silverado, Traverse, Equinox and Malibu. Chevy will donate $10 for every test drive to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee to help provide disaster relief for victims of the recent floods. Music fans will have an opportunity to win a ticket upgrade to the Nightly Concerts at LP Field.
