The Mystery Of Jake Owen’s Arm Injury Continues

Jake Owen injured his arm, somehow, earlier this week.  But for some reason, he’s being all mysterious about what happened.

Here’s what we know.  Early Tuesday morning Jake posted a TwitPic of his arm all swelled-up and nasty.  He also included this Tweet, quote, “Going to the ER.”  Here’s the photo of his swelled-up arm . . .

A little later on Tuesday Jake went online again and Tweeted, quote, “Going to Dr. now.  I’ll keep u updated.”  It’s unclear if he was going to a new doctor or if he was finally making his way to the ER.

And we’re not totally sure that Jake did see a doctor.  On Wednesday he Tweeted, quote, “Still hurting like a be-otch.  That’s my update.”

“Country Weekly” contacted Jake’s label and they also danced around the issue . . . saying he’s okay and his arm was only swollen.  His manager also joked around that it was the result of too much golf and wake boarding.  (???)

What ever the reason is behind Jake’s injury we hope he feels better soon.  Jake’s people did confirm that he will honor his concert date tomorrow at the Brown County Fair in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

Jake Owen Off The Emergency Room

That just looks painful, don’t you think? According to Jake Owen’s Tweets last night he was:

“Rocking out on the streets of Boise”

A short two hours later, he returned to his Twitter page to announce to his fans while attaching the picture above:

“Going to the ER…..”

No word from Jake as to what caused sudden trip to the ER or a follow up appointment today at the doctor.  Lets just hope Jake is feeling better and I am sure he will be sharing what crazy stunt he was doing at the time of his accident.

Kristy Lee Cook Is Goin’ Country With The Help Of Jake Owen and Aaron Tippin

Kristy Lee Cook is “Goin’ Country.”  The former American Idol country singer is going to make her first reality series on cable’s Versus channel.  Cook will play the lead in an eight episode show with stops in Kansas to hunt pheasant and Missouri to hunt turkey.  Cook will be accompanied by her friends, family, and even celebrities like fellow musicians Jake Owen, Aaron Tippin, and even Idol‘s Blake Lewis.

Cook is no stranger to hunting for sport.  She has been an avid hunter for over six years and recently shot a bear that kept raising a ruckus at her horse barn in Eagle Point, Oregon.  Cook stated in a FOX News interview that she shot and killed a black bear in July who kept “causing trouble for five nights, eating grain, and spooking my horses.  He was making a mess of the whole barn.  One night I was walking in the house and I saw something standing in the door of my barn and got him in one shot” with her Browning 270 Winchester short magazine rifle.

Cook hopes to share her hunting adventures with at home masses beginning in the Fall of 2010.  Check local listings for more.

The 4th Annual Chris LeDoux Spurs and Spikes Memorial Golf Tournament, raised over $30,000 for the Chris LeDoux Memorial Foundation. Held at the Powder Horn Golf Club in Sheriden, WY, 36 teams participated in the two-day event that included a practice round, BBQ, auction and live entertainment. RCA Records artist and longtime golfer Jake Owen made the trip to Wyoming to place in the tournament.

All of the money raised goes directly to the Chris LeDoux Memorial Foundation which goes to benefit various charities that were important to the LeDoux family such as the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund.

Tom Balding, created the first place trophies for the tournament. Each year Balding designs an original pair of silver spurs with the tournament name on each spur and the competition heats up quickly with a chance to take home one of these prized handmade silver spurs.

Jake Owen Has Some New Ink

Jake Owen recently got a new tattoo.  New country artist Tyler Reeve posted pictures of the tattoo in progress on his Facebook and Twitter pages and wrote,

Jake Owen getting his new tattoo… On a whim- after a few beers – on our way to (dinner).

The name of the tattoo according to Tyler’s posts is “The Tennessee Stars.”  It is a blue circle with three stars from the Tennessee state flag on the inside of his right forearm.  Jake also has a red “W” on his other forearm which stands for country music icon Waylon Jennings.

Little Big Town Would Like To Collaborate With Sugarland In The Future

Little Big Town just wrapped up the Country Throwdown tour, and although the tour hit a few rough spots due to poor ticket sales, Kimberly Schlapman and the rest of the group are hopeful that the tour will become a recurring event.

“It was such a great tour.  There was so much music!” Kimberly told The Boot“It will hopefully be an annual tour. It’s kind of like a traveling CMA Music Fest. It starts earlier in the day with the songwriter’s stage. They had some incredible songwriters from Nashville who play songs that you’ve heard on the radio and new songs that they’ve written. Then as the day goes on there’s more and more music. It was an amazing experience!”

Next up Little Big Town will be heading back on the road with Sugarland.  Last time they toured together they ended up recording “Life in a Northern Town” with Sugarland and Jake Owen.  Kimberly tells The Boot,

“We’ve heard [talk] of some ideas of doing another collaboration together. Hopefully there will be some of that going on. That would be fun for the fans to look forward to, and that’s always fun for us as well.”

Little Big Town will join the Incredible Machine tour next month.
