Take Part In Second Annual “Tweet-N-Greet” During CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night To Rock Tomorrow Night

CMA will host its second live Twitter feed on ABC.com, Wednesday, Sept. 1 (8:00 – 11:00 PM/ET), during the broadcast of “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock,” on the ABC Television Network.
Fans can log on to ABC.com to see Tweets from artists including Julianne Hough(@JulianneHough), Lady Antebellum (@ladyantebellum), Reba McEntire (@Reba), Tim McGraw (@TimMcGrawArtist), Blake Shelton (@BlakeShelton), Keith Urban (@KeithUrban), and Zac Brown Band (@ZacBrownBand). Fans can also visit CMAfest.com to follow along with the show using their Facebook account. Each artist will be posting their observations about the three-hour concert special as well as behind-the-scenes tidbits, anecdotes about other artists’ performances, as well as memories from past CMA Music Festivals.
The “Tweet ‘N’ Greet” will create an interactive feed between the fans and artists. Fans will have a direct connection to some of their favorite performers, not only allowing them the opportunity to ask questions, but also providing them with behind-the-scenes access. In addition, CMA (@CountryMusic) will be updating fans with information on the participating artists’ upcoming album releases, tour dates, and appearances. The official hashtag for the event is #cmatv. Fans using the hashtag will be entered to win prizes during the show. For more information, visit: CMAfest.com/tweet.

“As an event, CMA Music Festival is about these unique interaction opportunities between the artist community and the fans,” said Ben Bennett, CMA Digital Marketing Manager. “The Tweet ‘N’ Greet is a fun, inventive way of translating that artist/fan connection to the ABC broadcast. The artists and fans get to communicate while they share the common experience of watching the television show.”

CMA’s first “Tweet ‘N’ Greet” occurred during the 2009 airing of “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock.”  The chatter created in the social media space helped keep CMA Music Festival as a Top 10 trending topic on Twitter for the entire broadcast.

“CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” is hosted by Tim McGraw and features Taylor Swift in the first network television performance of her new single “Mine.” Also performing are Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Billy Currington, Alan Jackson, Jamey Johnson, Kid Rock, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Justin Moore, Brad Paisley, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Josh Turner, Uncle Kracker, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Zac Brown Band.

Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley and More To Appear At Grand Ole Opry Re-Opening

Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley and the Charlie Daniels Band have all signed on to perform at the grand re-opening of the Grand Ole Opry House.

The official home of the iconic radio show has been closed following Nashville’s devastating flood in May and will return to its rightful home on Tuesday, September 28.

“It is the best feeling in the world to see our beloved circle back home,” said Grand Ole Opry Group President Steve Buchanan. “We cannot wait for the curtain to go up as we launch a new chapter in the Opry’s history on September 28, just in time to celebrate our 85th birthday.”

He added: “There is no doubt the next two months are going to be some of the most memorable and emotional ever for our performers and fans.”

Other artists set to attend the event include Diamond Rio, Jimmy Dickens, the Del McCoury Band, Montgomery Gentry, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Mel Tillis, Josh Turner and more.

NBC’s Today Is Taking The Country Route This Week

Blake Shelton, Martina McBride, John Rich, Trisha Yearwood and Josh Turner will all be guest co-hosts this week on NBC’s Today.  They will each join Hota Kotb while Kathie Lee Gifford is on vacation.  Blake kicked the week off today, after just having appeared on the show last Thursday and he says:

“I don’t think the Today Show knows what they really signed up for with me co-hosting.  I mean, have you read my tweets? I hope they’re ready to sensor me.”

Martina will co-host on Tuesday, John on Wednesday, Trisha on Thursday and Josh on Friday.  Blake joked that Kathie Lee may not be welcomed back after his stint as co-host for the morning show. Check out his Tweets from this morning

Blake Shelton To Co-Host The Today Show This Monday

Blake Shelton truly is one of the industry’s “most versatile of contemporary country singers” (The New York Times) and he is showing just how versatile he can be as he co-hosts with Hoda Kotb on Monday, on NBC’s “Today Show.”
This is Shelton’s third time on the morning show this year and fourth appearance overall. The Reprise Recording Artist returns to the morning show after sitting down with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb less than two weeks ago to discuss his newly released SIX PAK, All About Tonight, which is currently No. 1 on the SoundScan Top Country Albums chart and his single, “All About Tonight” is No. 1 this week on the Billboard and Country Aircheck (Mediabase) charts. Shelton joked with Gifford that she may not be welcomed back after his stint as co-host for the morning show.

“I don’t think the Today Show knows what they really signed up for with me co-hosting,” Blake says. “I mean, have you read my tweets? I hope they’re ready to sensor me.”

All About Tonight debuted at No. 1 on the SoundScan Top Country Albums chart and No. 6 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart, making it Shelton’s highest charting record to date. Shelton also received the No. 1 spot this week on the Billboard and Country Aircheck (Mediabase) charts with his single, “All About Tonight.” This marks his second No. 1 of the year and seventh of his career. Shelton is the only solo male country artist – one of three artists overall (Carrie Underwood and Zac Brown Band) – to log more than one chart-topper so far this year on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs with his singles “Hillbilly Bone” and “All About Tonight.”

CMA Music Festival is the ultimate destination for Country Music fans from around the globe, featuring non-stop concerts, autograph signings, celebrity events, and more.  In 2011, Nashville’s signature music event will celebrate 40 years of providing unique artist/fan interactions since starting as Fan Fair in 1972. Plans are underway for surprises and special events to commemorate the occasion.

The dates for the 2011 CMA Music Festival are Thursday through Sunday, June 9-12, 2011. Four-day ticket packages will go on sale Monday, Aug. 23 at 10:00 AM/CDT.  Fans can purchase their tickets through Ticketmaster at Ticketmaster.com or 1-(800)-745-3000. They  can also purchase them through CMAfest.com or 1-(800)-CMA-FEST. Since the 2010 CMA Music Festival sold out in advance, fans should order their tickets for next year now in order to reserve their place at what USA Today named “the crown jewel of Country Music festivals.”

“We are excited to celebrate 40 years of CMA Music Festival and Fan Fair in 2011, and look forward to the fans joining us for all the fun,” said Steve Moore, CMA Chairman of the Board.  “We were fortunate that CMA Music Festival sold out completely in 2010 for the first time. Due to this strong demand, we suggest that fans buy their tickets now rather than waiting until it is too late.”

Earlier this year, the 2010 Festival attracted more than 65,000 fans from all 50 states and 26 nations. The event was filmed for the seventh consecutive year, and will air as a three-hour special on Wednesday, Sept. 1 (8:00-11:00 PM/EDT) on the ABC Television Network.
