New Music From Keith Urban This Month!!!
Very exciting news indeed!!! On September 13th, CMA Entertainer and Male Vocalist of the Year nominee Keith Urban will release his debut single “Put You In A Song”, from his forthcoming Tuesday, November 16th album release Get Closer. “Put You In A Song” was co-written by Keith, Sarah Buxton and Jedd Hughes and is co-produced by Dann Huff and Urban.
“I’ve always loved songs about ‘the guy in love with the unattainable girl’, said Keith of “Put You In A Song. “And the idea that the only chance that this poor guy is ever going to have to get close to the object of his affection is to put her in a song, just struck me. That way he’d be able to take her with him everywhere he goes…day and night.”
Keith added, “On my way to write with Jedd (Hughes) and Sarah (Buxton), I stopped by this music shop and bought a bouzouki. I got it out of the case, we got a great groove going on the drum machine, I started playing the opening riff and the song just took off.”
Get Closer follows Keith’s Billboard Top 200 Album Chart #1 Defying Gravity, which produced two #1 singles including “Only You Can Love Me This Way” and “Sweet Thing,” for which Keith won his third Grammy Award (Best Male Country Vocal Performance).
Urban is currently in the studio in Nashville, putting the finishing touches on Get Closer.

In remembrance of the 9th anniversary of 9/11, and in celebration of this year’s annual Patriot Day, the Boot Campaign is releasing a special edition compilation CD entitled “When They Come Back…We Give Back” to benefit military reintegration organizations like Marcus Luttrell’s Lone Survivor Foundation. Creators of the Boot Campaign, the “Boot Girls,” appeared on Fox & Friends and Glenn Beck last month to present to a national audience their grassroots photo campaign, which has caught fire over the last year, garnering the support of sports, music, and celebrity figures alike—from the Detroit Redwings to the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. The compilation CD will focus on popular country music stars like Jack Ingram, the Eli Young Band, Cross Canadian Ragweed and Jason Boland.
The title track, “When They Come Back,” was co-written by rising country music star Derek Sholl and Tim Johnson. It serves as an anthem for the American military—and celebration of their triumphs—while acknowledging the struggles these American heroes face when returning to civilian life back at home. The album will be released on Carved Records on Sept. 14, and proceeds benefit the Boot Campaign’s various charities.
Sholl says, “The track is more of a message than a song…” The lyrics, “When they come back, they thank God they’re home/they’re older, wiser, filled with more pride than they’ve ever known,” perfectly compliments in song the message of the Boot Campaign itself: the respect and empathy of everyday Americans for the services of our combat troops returning from tours of duty.
On the actual 9/11 date, the Boot Girls will be in Tyler, Texas for the one-year anniversary of the campaign’s conception—the County for our Country concert in 2009.
This year, the Country for our Country concert will be held on Sat., Sept. 11 at the Villa di Felicita, and will feature music by country music icons Phil Vassar, Heidi Newfield, Derek Sholl and Kacey Musgraves. Luttrell will be the Honored Guest of the evening. As stated on the Country for our Country website, the event “has been formed for the purpose of raising money and/or assets for the assistance of those in need. Primary beneficiaries will be military wounded and their families.” All of the funds raised support military veterans in achieving higher education or vocational opportunities.
In addition to the compilation disc and concert appearance, the Boot Campaign will release exclusive photographs of the artists on the album. The photos will be taken in the Boot Campaign’s signature style, with each artist donning the military issue combat boots made exclusively for the campaign by Georgia-based boot manufacturer Altama. Artists participating include Aaron Watson, Bleu Edmondson, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Eli Young Band, Derek Sholl, Jason Boland, Micky and the Motorcars, No Justice, Randy Rogers Band, Reckless Kelly, Stoney Larue, Wade Bowen and Robert Earl Keen, and more!
On Sept. 13, a day prior to the release of “When They Come Back,” the Boot Girls will join Marcus Luttrell and Charlie Daniels for a fundraiser in Nashville called “Get Your Boots on, Nashville.” The event will be hosted by the Nashville Palm Restaurant, and will benefit Stars for Stripes and the Boot Campaign for the Lone Survivor Foundation. Daniels, along with wife Hazel, will host the event, along with Luttrell and Karri Turner of TV’s “J.A.G.”

The broadcast will air in 195 countries, as well as on the Armed Forces Network.
“Plain and simple, cancer takes too much from us,” said Laura Ziskin, SU2C co-founder and executive producer of the September 10th broadcast, who is a cancer survivor. “Loved ones lost to it, pain and suffering endured by those in treatment, even the recent report that cancer has the most devastating economic impact of any cause of death…this disease exacts a very high price. We want people all over the country to rise up and say, ‘ENOUGH!’
“Tune in on Sept. 10th to see your favorite stars, who’ll ask, ‘Will you stand up with us?’ Person by person, saying ‘yes’ moves us toward a goal completely within our grasp: a world without cancer. A donation of any size brings scientists one step closer to a cure,” Ziskin said.
Cat Deeley of FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance will host the pre-show promotion to kick off the evening as the celebrity phone bank opens at 7:30 PM EST / 4:30 PM PST. Pearce Quesenberry is a 13-year-old who was featured in the 2008 Stand Up To Cancer broadcast as she was battling brain cancer. Pearce is now cancer-free, and will participate in this year’s broadcast as a survivor.
The broadcast is dedicated to the 12 million U.S. cancer survivors, illustrating how groundbreaking research can change the tide in the fight against the disease. Little Big Town Celebrates Career Milestones
When Howard Cohen of The Miami Herald called Little Big Town’s new album The Reason Why, “country’s album of the year for 2010,” he sensed a landmark release in the making. According to Soundscan’s album sales chart, there’s no doubt his inkling was right. The band is celebrating their fourth studio album’s, The Reason Why, debut this week at #1 on the Billboard Albums Chart and #5 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart across all genres with 41,940 albums sold– making The Reason Why the highest debuting album of the country band’s career. In addition, the band is celebrating a 2010 CMA Awards nomination in the Vocal Group of the Year category–marking Little Big Town’s eighth nomination and fifth in that category from the prestigious organization.
“This will be a week we never forget,” says Karen Fairchild, “and we owe that to the incredible fans, country radio, and our new label Capitol Records.” “We are so blessed to have our album debut at the top of the charts, and to have news of this nomination in the same week is just amazing,” adds Kimberly Schlapman.
The group, which consists of Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman and Jimi Westbrook, co-produced the The Reason Why alongside Wayne Kirkpatrick and co-wrote eight of the 12 tracks.
The band launched their new album in Chicago with a sold-out album release party at Joe’s Bar and then in New York City with performances on ABC’s Good Morning America and FOX News Channel’s Fox and Friends “All American Concert Series,” with additional appearances throughout the week. With no intention to slow down, the band will continue to make appearances in support of the new album with a performance at the New York State Fair on Sept. 2 before rejoining Sugarland on The Incredible Machine Tour on Sept. 3 at State College, PA’s Bryce Jordan Center.

Carter Twins Cover Keith Urban’s “I’m In”
Tonight will mark the end of an era in country music when Kix and Ronnie take the stage for the last time as Brooks & Dunn, for their final concert in Nashville. The guys have both said they plan to pursue solo projects, but after over two decades together they say that being in a duo certainly has its advantages over being a solo artist.
“Along the way, I think it’s been an asset in many ways, especially in the early years,” says Ronnie. “Bein’ able to play off one another and just from, you know, exhaustion on tour and, walkin’ on stage and pullin’ one another through it and bein’ cheerleaders for one another all along throughout the process, in songwriting and everything else. I think it helped. I think even a solo artist it wouldn’t hurt to have a coach out there with you or a buddy sometimes. I think a lot of people could use that.”
Ronnie has hinted that many of their celebrity friends would join them for their final farewell concert, which is also a benefit for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, but so far no specific names have been revealed. We have heard that Kenny Chesney, and Reba McEntire are rumored to make an appearance at tonight’s show.
